Admittedly, I'll likely have less shows produced this year than last but in truth, I didn't have any plays on the boards by this point last year. So, the premiere of "Tea Towels" — a short farce about three gay men on a nude cruise — has put me momentarily ahead of schedule. And as the closing act in Village Playwrights' One-Act Pride Festival, this brief broad comedy marked my first production at off-off-Broadway's venerable Theater for the New City. Starring Rafael Lyrio, Uni Coglioni, and Zachary Seekins (pictured above), the show played to sold-out houses on Jun. 15 and 16. Fellow playwright Barbara Kahn commented on Facebook afterwards: "It was beautifully written, staged and performed. And very funny." Other plays on the bill included Dr. Catalina Florina Florescu's "Moss" and Coglioni's own "Radar."
