I recently got together with fellow writer Thaddeus Rutkowski at the Sleeping Cat Cafe in Chelsea where he recounted an impressive list of cities where he'd read in support of his various books. I've never been that good at pitching myself in that regard, maybe because getting rejected for a reading feels more personal than getting rejected for a review. In the latter case, they're not interested in the book; in the former, they're not interested in you! And so, I've been quite diligent about getting Fassbinder: His Movies, My Poems out to different publications then letting the chips fall where they may. Here's the latest batch of interviews and reviews.
Hailey Wharram for The Georgetown Voice: "Fassbinder: His Films, My Poems is a resounding success thanks to his undeniable talent and unwavering dedication to faithful adaptation."
Anushka Bidani for Headcanon: "...a delightfully curious reversal of the usual order of things."
Antonia Cassetta for Other Terrain: "Pisarra plays on the friction of author and audience, on perceiving and being perceived, on god and man..."
Margaret R. Sáraco for Ovunque Siamo: "...an in-depth literary conversation between poet and movie director."
dan raphael for Unlikely Stories Mark V: "Drew is a master of the craft..."
Me for Guts Publishing: "...an extended fan letter in verse to Fassbinder’s ghost."
